Don’t forget tonight’s Barktoberfest!
One of mankind’s first tasks in Genesis was to take care of the animals. We’ll be observing the Feast of Saint Francis, special patron of animals and those who care for them, with a Blessing of the Animals 6 pm Friday, October 5, followed by a hamburger and hot dog cookout. Bring your special friend to get him or her blessed and stay for the celebration! Don’t have a pet? Come and admire the pets that come. As with everything we do, everyone is welcome!

When was the last time you invited someone to come with you to Mass?

Prayer List

Of your Christian charity, your prayers are asked for Kathleen, Melissa, Elizabeth, Madelynne, Polly, Kate, Ethan, Nathan; and for all service men and women everywhere, especially Geoff, Brandon, Jake, and Michael, for their protection and safe return, and for the peaceful repose of the souls of Bob and Mike.

Christian Education Change

Christian Ed has moved from before the Sunday Mass to a time that may be more popular. We’re meeting Wednesday evenings at 6 pm for a Bible study of the Gospel according to St. Mark, and a light soup and bread supper accompanying. See you at six!

Hymnals Still Needed

We began a campaign a few months ago to purchase some new hymnals for our worship, as many of the ones we use are showing the signs of much love, just like the velveteen rabbit! They cost $29 each, but of course donations in any amount are welcome, just put "Hymnal" on the memo line of your check. Hymnals can be given as a memorial, too, please see Fr. Richard for details.

A tip of the biretta to Irene for patching up some of the hymnals that were falling apart!
